Who is Sensaskin ...

Sensaskin is owned and operated by partners Jane Christie and Paul Rigby.

Sensaskin specialises in people-friendly, environmentally-friendly skincare products, with an emphasis on probiotic delivery of effective herbal content. Sensaskin has developed an innovative skincare range that embodies a technically advanced culturing process, unlocking the goodness of its ingredients and creating a new generation of topical skin food.

Jane has been a herbalist for over 20 years and expanding into effective, natural skincare has been a natural progression for her. It started when she formulated a cream for sufferers of eczema, psoriasis and other notoriously hard-to-alleviate skin complaints. Feedback from users was very positive, leading to development of what is now our Soothing range. From there followed all the other products for the whole family.

Jane continues to improve her formulas as she researches new ingredients and develops new processes for delivering ingredients to the skin. Some of the Sensaskin products are familiar in feel and texture but others are unique in terms of ingredients and the way they work gently on the skin.

Philosophy of the simple life

Jane and Paul are keen gardeners and grow many of the herbs used for the products in their own garden. You won't find any herbal extracts based on ethanol (which is drying to the skin) or other common chemical extract bases, such as polyethylene glycol, in Sensaskin products.

In formulating the products we work hard to avoid using ingredients that may be harmful to human health or to the environment. Ingredients are researched very carefully for their potential impact before being included in Sensaskin; synthetic chemical ingredients are used only where there is no other practical alternative. (By the term 'chemical' we include any ingredient that has been processed to the point where its chemical structure is changed, whether the original base used was natural and/or organic or not.)

Sensaskin's packaging reflects the same standards. PET plastic packaging is primarily used as it is 100% recyclable using far less energy than recycling glass. You the customer can help extend these standards by recycling all packaging thoughtfully.
